Bebow
John Bebow,
36, is finishing a final investigative project at The
Detroit News before joining The Chicago Tribune in December
as a general assignment/enterprise reporter. He has worked in
Michigan journalism for 13 years -- as a reporter in Detroit
and previously at The
Ann Arbor News and the Traverse City Record-Eagle. He
also served as editor-in-chief of MLive.com, the state's largest
online news and information service. He has appeared as a guest on
various
television and radio programs, including the BBC. His freelance
writings have appeared in a variety of regional and national
publications,
including
American Editor, American Journalism Review and "9/11, 8:48 AM," one
of the first books published in response to the terrorist attacks.
He grew up in Mason (a few miles south of Spartan Stadium) and
graduated with honors from Western Michigan University. He lives
in Ypsilanti
with his wife, Monica, a blues/jazz/classical singer and voice
coach, and their well-mannered farm dog, Jeni.
