Bonnie Bucqueroux
Bonnie Bucqueroux
combines her experience as a reporter and editor with her efforts
to reduce violence and to help victims heal. She has
been with the Victims and the Media Program at Michigan State University's
School of Journalism for the past eight years, now as coordinator.
The program is dedicated to educating journalists of today and
tomorrow about how to report
on victims of violence and catastrophe without re-victimizing them.
Prior to her
current position, Bucqueroux was associate director of the National
Center for Community Policing at MSU's School of Criminal Justice
for nine years. Before coming
to Michigan State University, Bucqueroux was a National Magazine
Award-winning journalist and author. She also twice won the Detroit
Press Club Foundation award for excellence in specialty reporting.
